Final Course Grades

May 14th, 2007 · No Comments

They are now available on Toolkit. And all your materials have been filed in your folders outside my office. Some things to note:

  • Overall average for the course was about 81.1%. This is a bit higher than I expected, but a very welcome surprise.
  • As such, there was very little-to-zero curve on the course grades. We had 8 A, 13 A-, and 8 B+ grades, so 29/80=36% of students earned a B+ or better.
  • The overall class GPA for this course was 2.75. This was computed using the total grade points earned in the course (A = 4, A- = 3.67, etc.) and dividing by the number of students. This reflects the course average, which works out to be about a B-.
  • We had 11 different students earn extra credit for problem solutions submitted for sharing on the blog. These students collectively submitted 23 solutions to 13 different problems. Each solution submitted added +3 points to the student’s homework grade. The largest adjustment for any student was +15 points (i.e., + 3/4 of a homework assignment!).

Check out your final grade on Toolkit or when grade reports are mailed, and if you have any questions please send me email.
