GO HOKIES!!! Aileen is a 1996 graduate from Virginia Tech with a BS in Animal Science. Aileen spent the summers working for Dr. Rissman, then started full time as a technician in 1997. Although she isn’t working with large animals at UVA, she is currently the lab manager and keeps the mouse and shrew colonies going for the research projects. She handles the breeding and weaning of the various crosses of mice, as well as the ordering and receiving, protocols, and in general, considered the lab mommy J. She tries to keep everyone on track during the day. In her spare time, she operates her horse and cattle farm in Fluvanna County. She enjoys riding and participating in horse shows and teaching riding lessons.
