Ernest Franklin Dukes, Jr. Memoirs Project


E. Franklin Dukes witnessed first hand American farm life in the early twentieth century, life on the American frontier with the US Cavalry, the Great Depression, American imperialism in the Philippines, World War II, postwar Europe, Jim Crow, and the birth of the atomic age. His story is contained in his memoirs. They are fascinating reading. A copy of the memoirs, all four-hundred and some pages, can be downloaded from this website. There are both illustrated and plain versions, the plain version takes much less time to download. Each version is fomatted in Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) and compressed postscript (.ps.gz).
