V.A.R. appears biannually. Subscriptions are available either in their own right or through membership in the American Anthropological Association and the Society for Visual Anthropology.

The V.A.R. annual subscription rate for non-AAA members (institutions and individuals alike) is $25.00. Annual membership dues for professionals are $100.00; $60.00 for students. Current professional AAA members may enroll in the SVA for $25.00; student AAA members may enroll for only $15.00. Back issues are available at $12.00 each.
