Contributions: General

V.A.R. welcomes submissions relating to visual studies, broadly conceived--projects rethinking the meaning of cultural and theoretical visualization. Visual anthropology includes both the study of visual aspects of human behavior (including the anthropology of art and museology). and the use of visual media in anthropological research, representation, and teaching.

Manuscripts must be typed double-spaced, and submitted in triplicate (original and two copies) to the editor at the address below. Authorship and institutional affiliation, if any, should appear on a separate sheet. Manuscripts will not he returned to authors, and V.A.R. assumes no responsibility for their loss or injury, or for the views expressed in the articles published. If selected for publication the final revised articles must he accompanied by a computer disc copy (formatted on a PC (Windows) in "Microsoft Word" word-processing software.)

References: All entries in the bibliography and filmography must he cited in the text, and all textual citations must be included in the bibliography or filmography. For style V.A.R. by and large follows American Anthropologist (cf.7: 1). In the body of the text itself, references should he cited in parentheses, stating surname(s), year of publication, and if relevant, page number(s). The bibliography and filmography should be ordered alphabetically by surname-with the author on the first line (principal authors surname first), the date of publication on the next line, followed by the title and then the city and name of the publisher. None of the lines should he indented.
