Final Paper Assignment
Please write an 8-10pp paper (approximately 2000 words) on any topic related to the subject matter of this class. I urge you to discuss the topic with me prior to starting the paper, either via email or during my office hours. If you are having trouble coming up with a topic, talk to me sooner rather than later. The paper is due at the beginning of class on May 1. NO LATE PAPERS WILL BE ACCEPTED!
The following are some guidelines on the kind of paper that is acceptable, but the choice of topic is up to you. You may write on a topic similar to those indicated for the shorter paper, but you may NOT incorporate or substantially use one of your earlier papers into the longer paper. Your paper does not need to focus on a linguistic aspect of a novel or media object, as long as the novel/media object itself is at least partly presented in a vernacular.
