Each summer, hope springs eternal, and each Sunday, Blandy students, staff, and faculty compete against bigger, stronger, faster, and more talented atheletes in the Clarke County co-ed softball league. The dream never dies, though, and 2010 saw our best team in years. Our greatest moment, however, came in August of 2004. REU student Emily Mazure of Central Michigan University pitched the "Blandy Farmers" to within three outs of the League Championship game. A line drive off her shin forced Emily from the Semi-Final game in its last inning, and her relief pitcher was unable to hold the lead. So we dream of next year, knowing that if the Red Sox can win it all, so can we.
