| Primary sources are a valuable resource to use
in
lesson plans because they force students to use critical thinking and teach students in a way that seems more real and fascinating because primary sources are actual historical relics. One extremely well-done digital primary source is the Virginia Center for Digital History. This website can be found at http://www.vcdh.virginia.edu/research.html When looking at this website, I focused on the Valley of the Shadow project in particular. The Virginia Center for Digital History and other digital primary sources like it can be especially helpful when teaching with the ideas of inquiry based learning and historical thinking in mind.
