I am a camera with its shutter open, quite passive,
recording, not thinking. Recording the man shaving at the window
opposite and the woman in the kimono washing her hair. Some day,
all this will have to be developed, carefully printed and fixed.
[Christopher Iherwood - A Berlin Diary]
Starting quite early in its existance Photography found its way in to fiction, poetry and other forms of creative writing.
We begin with three examples and hope to add more as time goes by. If you have a favorite passage from literature where photography plays a central role send along the quote or provide us with the reference and Fixing Shadows will fish it out of the library. Use this: mailer. And thanks in advance.
