I'm from a suburb of Chicago and have many Illini friends--maybe you taught some of them before! I love to ski and sing, and Hercules just happens to be one of my favorite animated films! I rode a camel in Australia.

I am very into theatre & performing, and I just got back from doing the musical Pippin at the Fringe of the Edinburgh International Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland, with my high school.

Because my racquetball class did not have an instructor I was asked if I could teach the class. The lady who organizes instructors explained to the class that if she couldn't find an instructor the class would be cancelled. So I volunteered and as a 1st year am on the UVA payroll.

I've learned traditional Greek dance for 12 years and danced for G.W. Bush at the inaugural ball.

Have moved 8 times in 5 different states; on rugby team; am oldest in family--youngest sibling 19 months old.

My mother & her family are Norwegian & as we travel there each summer, I speak the language fluently (write & read as well). I'm very musical playing instruments from guitar to piano to the flute. I also love listening to music of all kinds, from rock to classical to even 80s synth pop.

I spent the summer backpacking through France and Spain on a very small budget--which added to the experience.

I worked for Georgia governor Roy Barnes, who changed the Georgia state flag from the old Confederate flag to a new, more "racially progressive" flag. Hard-core Confederates in Georgia used to follow Gov . Barnes around, waving Confederate flags and screaming at him. Since I worked for him, to this day, whenever the "flaggers" see me, I am booed and heckled by them.

I have travelled all over Western Europe and seen ancient ruins, the most impressive of which were Pompeii and the Colosseum.
