TRAVELS
Before becoming a graduate student, I spent my time as a field biologist and enjoyed traveling
in the off season. Click on the place names below to see more pictures (in progress).

Africa

I served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Uganda, East Africa from 1996 to 1998. While in Uganda, I was able to travel to Kenya (Nairobi, Masai Mara, Lamu) and Egypt. After finishing up my time as PC Volunteer, I traveled with friends and my now-husband,Eric, to Zimbabwe, Namibia, South Africa, and Madagascar.

Central America

Eric and I have traveled to Costa Rica, Panama, Mexico, and Belize

Thailand

Eric and I traveled in Thailand for 3 months in 2001. The food was great, the people were wonderful, and the birding was excellent!

Australia

We traveled around the western half of the continent in 2002 for our 5-month honeymoon:) We spent a month near Tathra, New South Wales volunteering with Amy Rogers who was studying Eastern Whipbirds. Then we did all the touristy stuff: the Great Barrier Reef, Kakadu, Ayers Rock, and Tasmania.
